Want  to unwind after a hectic day?

Here are a few simple suggestions that you may like-

1.Turn off your phone

Spend some quality time with yourself.Your phone can be a distraction during your me-time. So at the time when you relax and unwind, then your phone should be the last thing on your mind. Please turn it off and enjoy your evening doing things which you dearly love.

2. Spend time with Nature

After a hectic day at work, go to a garden and surround yourself with the sounds of nature. The birds chirping, the leaves rustling and the noise of the wind will calm you down instantly. Try walking barefoot on the green grass, it cools you down and alleviates your mood. When you are close to nature, it helps to connect yourself with the environment.

3. Meditation or Yoga

Brighten your mood after a hectic day. Practice Yoga or Meditation to focus in the present. Start with the basics, 15- 20 minutes. Go slow. Don’t over exert, simply try to calm yourself. All the stretches and exercises relieves all kinds of body-aches as well.

I assure you after doing it for a few days you really can’t do without it. The best thing about practicing yoga is that you don’t have to be an expert, try to do different asanas in your comfort zone.

Meditation helps you explore new perspectives in worrisome situations.

Grow a Hobby

Please do a favour to yourself, find a hobby. It can do wonders to your mental health. The pleasure of pursuing a hobby calms your senses and takes care of all your worries. Hobbies can vary from cooking, dancing, playing a sport or practising art. Please remember progress is not perfection but simply practice. Do not hesitate to try several options and then choose your favourite.

Spending time with the ones you love

Probably, the best way to relax is spending time with your favourite people. Talk to them and you will instantly feel better. A joke, a gossip..its all worth it. If you have a pet, then nothing more like it. Their playfulness will totally distract your mind and lower your stress levels.

6. Journaling

My personal favourite! I find journaling the best way to relax. Writing down your thoughts make you come to terms with your feelings and what is really troubling you. Practicing gratitude makes you a better person, by appreciating what you do have. Less complaints for sure..Takes care of what you don’t have!

7. Light up some Candles with Soothing Music

Lighting up my favourite candle makes me so contented. Candles have the power to immediately change the ambience of a room by making it soft and serene. There are so many candles available with different scents to mellow you down, choose your favourite.

Turning on some music with it, makes it even better. Classical music or even nature sounds will totally repose your senses.

8. Practice Calligraphy

One of my favourite activities.  I love to go on the balcony with my stationery and sit there practicing this beautiful style of writing. If you are not creative, it doesn’t matter. Calligraphy makes us slow down to live in the now and enjoy the little things. It is such a breather.

9.Mask it Up

Want to unwind after a hectic day? Simply put on a face mask and soak your feet in warm water with a pinch of sea salt.  This takes care of all the tiredness. There are a variety of options available in the market. Hair masks, foot masks, eye masks, you just name it. And if you are feeling a little extra, cut some cucumber slices and put them on your eyes, the easiest way to calm your senses. Remember to pamper yourself.

Here were some things that I follow to unwind after a hectic day. I believe that it is essential to compose and collect yourself for a bright new day.
